Kenoteq is proud to be supplying the Nature’s Corner community project at Wendling Beck in Norfolk, UK as it is the perfect use of K-BRIQs and K-SLIPs in a conservation and environmental project that brings together many stakeholders to implement a nature-positive land management model.

Juliet Moore Architects has designed a bright and inspiring cafe and farmshop using a wide range of sustainable building materials. The warmth of the Chapman Burnt Orange K-BRIQ forms a deep plinth around the perimeter of the steel-framed building, with huge planters faced in K-BRIQs offering planting opportunities for the project.

Equally the multi-tonal hues of the Chapman Burnt Orange K-SLIP’s colour range have been used as paving, laid in a herringbone pattern.

Nature’s Corner will be the main commercial hub and a key access point to Wendling Beck, one of the most ambitious nature recovery projects in England. It will act at the project’s public face and the point where the local community and day visitors can come together to engage and learn.

There’s been so much thought behind every material choice — not just how the building looks, but how the materials feel, age and sit within the landscape. In addition to the ultra-low carbon recycled K-BRIQ, mycelium and hemp have been used for furniture and insulation. Listen further to Juliet explain further her approach to the use of sustainable materials here.
