Award-winning Hampton Court Garden Festival project moves to NHS Salisbury with Horatio’s Garden
The Medero Dark Grey K-BRIQ was an integral part of Mike McMahon Studio’s multi-award winning Subaru Cocoon Garden at the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in Summer 2025. We are delighted to see the garden set to be permanently relocated to Horatio’s Garden Salisbury — an amazing UK charity that designs therapeutic landscapes within NHS spinal injury centres.
Reuse, repurposing or recycling are a critical pathway for K-BRIQ and K-SLIP products that have ended their initial purpose, so ensuring a closed loop circular economy.
The reinvented project aims to transform an overlooked section of NHS Salisbury’s hospital courtyard into a lush, temperate rainforest-inspired retreat that promotes recovery and wellbeing. The redesigned scheme reinterprets the original Hampton Court concept, with all K-BRIQ brickwork reimagined as staggered, fluted planters that bring texture and rhythm to the space.
Mike McMahon says, “By integrating sustainable materials and immersive planting, the garden will provide patients with a sensory-rich environment that fosters connection with nature. The relocation is supported by Subaru, whose partnership helps ensure the garden’s long-term impact within Horatio’s Garden’s network of restorative landscapes”.
