Bringing individuality and sustainability to home renovation

The K-BRIQ and K-SLIP are bringing individuality as well as sustainability to home renovation projects across the country. 2026 has seen significant interest and use of the BBA-certified K-BRIQ® within new house builds, extension work and interior remodeling.

“It is really gratifying to see the value that homeowners are putting on sustainability whether they are planning a new build, an extension, garden room or interior re-design,” explains Lucy Black, Head of Business Development at Kenoteq. “The K-Briq’s wide colour palette brings new design possibilities to projects whilst the circular and low carbon credentials of the product are piquing the interest of environmentally conscious clients who care about the impact of the materials they use - and care about the materials being recyclable further down the line.”

In Scotland where the K-BRIQ was born, the product has recently been used for key feature walls in a Passivhaus newbuild in Lanarkshire whilst a bespoke new build home outside Edinburgh is about to break ground. A high number of new build homes using the K-BRIQ are under design across the rest of the UK from Cornwall to Wales to the Highlands & Islands of Scotland.

The London market has shown real interest in the products, an area that is bouyant for home extensions and garden rooms. Whittaker Parsons Architects currently have their second home interior project under build having successfully designed a stacked feature wall with built-in shelving in the Medero Dark Grey K-BRIQ within their award-winning “Waste Not, Want Not House” in East London, a project which cut the embodied carbon of a traditional extension by half.
