NHS hospital project win for Kenoteq after winning Sacyr’s Open Innovation iChallenge Programme

After winning global construction giant Sacyr’s Open Innovation Program in 2022, Kenoteq is delighted to now be supplying the company with 1,000m2 of our innovative ultra-low carbon K-BRIQs made from recycled construction and demolition waste. The K-BRIQ will be used to build the service yard area in one of the UK's most sustainable hospitals, the New Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, Wales, contributing to reducing carbon emissions, increasing circularity and hitting ESG project targets.

Kenoteq won the 12th edition of the Sacyr Innovation Awards by the Sacyr Foundation in late 2022. The Sacyr Foundation recognized Kenoteq’s solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within construction. Out of the 276 submissions, Kenoteq’s proposal best addressed the challenge set, seeing off competition from other finalists in this challenge area including Fortera (United States) and EH Group (Switzerland).

Spanish headquartered, Sacyr, recently announced its 2026 iChallenge programme through the Sacyr Foundation, this year looking for innovative solutions around the “Automation for Road Safety and Efficiency”. Further information available here.
